How to get free charity hosting with Krystal
If you're a UK registered charity, you can host your website with us for free on our Amethyst plan, or get 50% off any other hosting plan we offer. We've supported over 1,000 charities to date, and we'd love to help yours too.
This guide explains what's included, who's eligible, and how to get set up.
What's on offer?
UK registered charities can claim either a free Amethyst hosting plan or a 50% discount on any other hosting plan we offer, including Business Hosting and VPS packages. The discount excludes additional licence costs such as cPanel or LiteSpeed.
The free Amethyst plan includes one website, 10GB storage, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited 5GB mailboxes, free SSL, daily backups, and over 200 one-click applications including WordPress. All we ask is that you add a link back to the Krystal website somewhere on your site.
Who's eligible?
To qualify, your organisation must be a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The person setting up the account must be a charity director or listed trustee, as we need to verify that you're officially involved with the organisation.

How to sign up for the free Amethyst plan
- Head to our Charity Hosting page and click Claim your free plan today.
- Follow the checkout process to set up your account.
- Once your order is placed, a support ticket will be raised automatically. This ticket will ask you to confirm that you are a trustee of the charity and to provide a clear copy of your photographic identification (passport or driving licence).
- Reply to the ticket with the requested details and we'll verify everything on our end.
- Once approved, your free charity hosting will be activated.
Your identification documents will only be used for verification purposes and will be deleted once the process is complete.
How to get 50% off a different plan
If the Amethyst plan isn't enough for your needs, you can get 50% off any other hosting plan we offer, including Business Hosting and VPS packages.
- Head to https://krystal.io/hosting and order whichever hosting package suits your needs.
- When you reach the payment stage, select Bank Transfer as the payment method. This means no payment is taken at that point.
- Once your account is set up, raise a support ticket by going to Support > Open Ticket in the client area, or head directly to https://krystal.io/client/submitticket.php.
- In the ticket, let us know your charity's name and Charity Commission number.
- We'll verify your details and apply the 50% charity discount to your plan.

Things to note
- The account must be in the name of a director or listed trustee of the charity. If you're not currently a trustee, you can add one as a contact on your account. See our guide on how to add contacts and sub-accounts to your Krystal client area.
- You'll need to include a link back to the Krystal website on your charity's site.
- The 50% discount applies to hosting fees only and excludes additional licence costs such as cPanel or LiteSpeed.
- All identification documents provided during verification are used solely for that purpose and deleted once complete.
