What backups do I get with my account?

All Krystal cPanel hosting plans include backups. The table below shows the frequency and number of restore points for each plan.

The plans listed here are our shared, business and reseller cPanel plans. If you are on a VPS, Krystal Cloud or Managed WordPress, backups work differently - ask us what applies to your service.

We use JetBackup for our internal system backups and we share these backups with you to enable restoration of files, databases, CRON jobs, DNS Zones, Email, SSL Certificates and your full account. We have a separate article which provides full detail on restoring from Jetbackup.

All of our backups are off-site, meaning that our backup servers are in a separate location from your hosting server.

We also offer cPanel backups which you can use to back up your files, databases and full account. We have a separate article that details how to take ad-hoc cPanel backups and restore from them.

Whilst we take regular backups, we can't ever guarantee that we will catch changes you make between our backup runs. It's important you ensure you have regular backups of your site. We suggest you take regular backups before, during and after making any changes. Any backups you take should be stored away from your hosting plan (off-site). We reserve the right to remove backup and archive files older than 7 days that are left inside your hosting plan, so please move them to other storage once you've taken them and once you've finished working with them. The only files/data that should consistently remain in your plan are those of your live and any development or staging versions of your website.
