How to Create a Screen Recording

A screen recording captures everything happening on your screen in real-time, making it a valuable tool for sharing visual information. Whether you're creating tutorials, documenting software issues, or demonstrating workflows, screen recordings allow you to convey detailed steps and instructions visually.

This eliminates the need for long explanations and makes it easier for others to follow along.

There are many ways to create a screen recording; while we are not affiliated with Screen-Recorder.com and recommend using it at your own risk, we find it to be an ideal tool because it requires no software installation and works across almost all browsers.

  1. Open Screen-Recorder.com
  2. Launch the Screen Recorder
    • On the homepage, click the "Start Recording" button.
    • If this is your first time using the tool, you may be prompted to allow permissions for screen recording.
  3. Configure Recording Settings
    • Choose what to record:
      • Entire screen: Captures everything on your screen.
      • Application window: Captures a specific program or window.
      • Browser tab: Captures a single tab in your browser.
    • Optionally, enable microphone or system audio recording if needed.
  4. Start Recording
    • Once you've selected what to capture, click the "Share" button to start the recording.
    • A countdown will begin, and your screen will start recording.
  5. Stop Recording
    • To stop the recording, click the "Stop" button in the recorder interface or on the taskbar, depending on your browser.
  6. Save or Download the Recording
    • Once stopped, the recording will be processed, and you’ll be given an option to download the video to your device.
  7. Optional Settings
    • Before downloading, you can preview the recording, trim unwanted parts, and adjust the video quality.
