Resource Management Policy - Managed cPanel
π‘ Proactive Resource Management Policy for Managed VPS
Ensuring Uninterrupted Performance and Stability
To ensure your Managed VPS continues to deliver uninterrupted performance and stability, especially during peak demand or unexpected traffic, we have updated our resource management policy. This change is designed to prioritise your service uptime and protect you from sudden performance degradation and service failures.
Our new approach is focused on proactive service protection and optimisation.
π‘ What This Means for Your VPS Uptime
We proactively monitor your CPU, RAM, and Disk usage. When your server consistently approaches safe usage limits, we will take immediate steps to stabilise your service.
Area of Change | Previous Approach | New, Proactive Approach |
Service Stability | Service performance was at risk if resource limits were hit. | Immediate Uptime Focus: If limits are reached and technical optimisation isn't feasible, we may add the minimum required resources (CPU/RAM/Disk) to keep your services stable. |
Notification Window | Varies based on urgency. | Clear Notification Timeline: We will notify you immediately with recommendations. If we do not hear back within 48 hours (2 business days), we will proceed with the necessary minimum upgrade. In urgent, service-impacting cases, we will act immediately to prevent a service failure, followed by an urgent notification. |
Billing & Flexibility | Required manual process for upgrades/downgrades. | Simple Billing & Easy Downgrade: Added resources will appear on your next invoice. Once the underlying issue is fixed, you can request a downgrade to your original plan (which will require a simple server reboot). |
π― Our Commitment: Optimisation First
Please note: Our primary focus remains system optimisation. We will always attempt to resolve resource issues first at the system level before considering an upgrade.
Examples of Optimisation Steps We Take:
- Clearing excessive logs or temporary files.
- Mitigating abusive or excessive traffic.
- Optimising database usage and slow queries.
The upgrade is a final, protective measure to safeguard your service availability and prevent potential issues.
π« This Policy Helps Prevent:
This proactive approach significantly reduces the risk of common performance and stability issues:
- Server crashes and downtime.
- Slow website and application performance.
- Database connection errors.
- Failed backups due to insufficient disk space.
β Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I need to take any action right now?
No, you do not need to take any action at this time. This policy is a change to how we manage and protect your service proactively.
Will I be notified before any changes?
We will always notify you before any resource changes where time allows. The only exception is when immediate action is required to maintain service stability and prevent a server failure.
What if I don't want the upgrade?
When we notify you of an impending minimum resource addition, you have 48 hours (2 business days) to implement our optimisation recommendations or contact us to discuss an alternative plan. If we do not hear from you, we will proceed with the minimum upgrade to protect your service.
How do I request a downgrade after an upgrade?
Once the underlying resource issue (e.g., traffic spike, unoptimised database) is resolved, simply contact our support team. We will process the downgrade, which will require a simple server reboot to take effect.
