We recommend the use of Thunderbird to access calendars and contacts on Linux desktop systems.

Set up calendars in Thunderbird

Perform the following steps to set up your calendars (CalDAV) account in Thunderbird on a Linux desktop computer:

  1. Click the Calendars icon ().
  2. Click New Calendar…. The Create New Calendar interface appears.
  3. Select On the Network, then click Next.
  4. Enter your email-account username in the Username text box.
  5. Enter your domain in the Location text box in the following format: https://example.com:2080
  6. Click Find Calendars.
  7. The Authentication Required - Mozilla Thunderbird interface appears. Enter your email-account password in the text box, then click OK. The Create New Calendar interface appears.
  8. Make sure that CalDAV is selected in the Calendar Type menu and the cPanel CalDAV Calendar checkbox is selected.
  9. Click Subscribe. The cPanel CalDAV Calendar now appears in the Calendars menu.

Set up contacts in Thunderbird

Perform the following steps to set up your contacts (CardDAV) account in Thunderbird on a Linux desktop computer:

  1. Click the Address book icon ().
  2. Click the Create a new address book icon ().
  3. Select Add CardDAV Address Book. The New CardDAV Address Book interface appears.
  4. Enter your email-account username in the Username text box.
  5. Enter your domain in the Location text box in the following format: https://example.com:2080
  6. Click Continue. The Authentication Required - Mozilla Thunderbird interface appears.
  7. Enter your email-account password in the Password text box, then click OK. The New CardDAV Address Book interface appears.
  8. Make sure the cPanel CardDAV Address Book checkbox is selected.
  9. Click Continue. The cPanel CardDAV Address Book now appears in the All Address Books section.
